UNITED EAGLES CROWNED CHAMPION OF WAFA U-15 INTERNATIONAL

United Eagles Football club has on 19th December 2021 crowned as the Champion of the Western Area Football Association International under 15 at the Siaka Stevens Stadium.

The match started with a high tempo from both teams.  Both teams fought hard to put the ball back at the back of the net of their opponents. However both teams goal-keepers were outstanding through the ninety minutes. The match eventually ended in a post-game penalty where United Eagles won the match by five goals to two(5-2).

According to King David the Chief Executive Officer of Orthodox Football club he feels disappointed for his side to lose the final. He attributed it to so many reasons.

” One of the reasons why we lose the final is because of fatigue my players did not rest they played every day without rest and my boys are school going pupils and some are currently taking their exams and as a result, they were not able to focus on the games ahead including the finals.”

 He added:  “But we will accept the results and move on as a team and prepare for another tournament King David Kargbo Said”

Jonathan Conteh the head coach of United Eagles said they feel happy to lift the first International tournament trophy organized by the Western Area Football Association because they played a strong team in the final.

Mohamed Razers the Assistant Coach said as a team they are happy to have lifted the trophy because the team they defeated Orthodox Football club is a good side that has a record of winning the trophy for the past few years.

After the final, the winning teams were awarded trophies and medals as well as the runners-up medals. This is the first edition of the Western Area Football Association international   U-15 and U-12 Tournament.
