In a vibrant celebration of International Youth Day, the U.S. Embassy in Sierra Leone joined hands with students from Limkokwing University to explore the power of digital innovation in driving sustainable development.

Under the theme “From Clicks To Progress: Youth Digital Pathways For Sustainable Development,” this event brought together talented individuals from the fields of Information Technology, Communication, and Business.

The occasion was marked by inspiring presentations from two distinguished alumni – Alex Nalo Junior, a 2023 Mandela Washington Fellow, and Sunah Kaili, a 2017 International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) alumna. Their insights underscored the crucial role of youth in harnessing digital tools to address the country’s pressing challenges and create a brighter, more sustainable future.

“We are proud to support and uplift the voices of our youth, who are the key to unlocking a brighter and more sustainable future,” said the U.S. Embassy, emphasizing its commitment to empowering the next generation of Sierra Leonean leaders.

The event provided a platform for students to engage with the visiting speakers, exchange ideas, and explore the transformative potential of digital technologies in various sectors. Participants were encouraged to harness their creativity and technical skills to drive positive change in their communities.

By fostering this collaborative spirit and recognizing the invaluable contributions of Sierra Leone’s youth, the U.S. Embassy and Limkokwing University have set the stage for a future where digital pathways pave the way for sustainable progress and development in the country.
