Mariama Jaguraga a house wife of Kondoma village Valunya Chiefdom, Bo district and Abass Alhaji Kabbba a driver of Kondoma village Valunya Chiefdom Bo district made their first appearance before Magistrate Mark Ngegba in Freetown on the 30th March, 2021 to answer to an allegation of human trafficking contrary to the Laws of Sierra Leone.
According to the case file, the accused persons between 1st to the 8th February, 2021 at Kondoma village Valunya chiefdom, Bo district, in the Southern region of Sierra Leone conspired together with other persons unknown to traffic, Ishmael Fatorma, Isata Sogbeh, Isata Wusay, Fatmata Kamara , Foday Mattia, Christiana Albert, Sao Fatorma, Haja Wusai, Mariama Senessie and Hannah Mattia, from Kundoma village, Valunya chiefdom, Bo district to Kambia via Masiaka for the purpose of exploitation in the Gambia.
The matter is been prosecuted by Ibrahim T. Bangura Esq, who is attached to the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) of the Sierra Leone Police. Both accused persons were not legally represented and have been remanded at the male and female correctional center respectively.
The matter has been adjourned to 6th April, 2021.
