Two accused persons, 52 year old Fudiya Bangura and 24 year old Isha Fudiya Komba are before Magistrate Hadiru Daboh at Ross Road Court in Freetown under preliminary investigation for allegedly throwing missiles at the Masjid Fatima Zara Mosque, 137 Fourah Bay Road in Freetown.
They were dragged to court by Sheikh Idrissa Kanu on two counts of throwing missiles, and insulting language which are all contrary to the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965 Laws of Sierra Leone.
Count one states that both accused Fudiya Bangura and Isha Fudiya Komba on Thursday 24th December 2019 at 137 Fourah Bay Road, Freetown threw missiles at Masjid Fatima Zara Mosque, whereas on count two the charge sheet indicates that both accused on Thursday 12th December 2019 at the same place used insulting language to the annoyance of Sheik Idrissa Kanu with intent to provoke him to commit a breach of the peace.
The matter has been adjourned to the 13th April 2021, while both accused persons are on bail. Sergeant 9095 Fofanah H. Steven is prosecuting and the associate counsel is K. Kanu ESQ.
