Emmanuel Thomas and Kadiatu Mabinty Kargbo have been arrested and charged in court with two counts: conspiracy to commit a crime and larceny, in violation of Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the charge sheet, on July 14, 2025, at No. 3 Bailalie Drive, Freetown, Emmanuel Thomas conspired with unknown individuals to steal from a Toyota Corolla, registration number ARC 755, owned by Robert Kpaker. The items reported stolen include a Bluetooth tape, twelve 12-amp vehicle batteries, a spare tire, and Le12,000 in cash, with a total value of Le17,750.
DPC 1720 J.B. Sannoh, the lead prosecution witness, testified before Magistrate Sao Mamakoh Betty Kallon of Pademba Road Court No. 3. Detective Police Sergeant Samuel Bammie Level, attached to the CID Lumley Division, also served as a scene-of-crime officer. He confirmed recognizing the accused persons and recalled his investigation of the crime scene. As part of his duties, he seized several missing items and took photographs of the damaged vehicle, which were subsequently submitted as evidence and tendered in court to become part of the court records.
The case has been adjourned to September 17, 2025, for further hearings.
