William T. Lamin and Alfred Kamara have each been sentenced to six months imprisonment at the Male Correctional Centre, D.O. Barracks in Koidu City, Kono District, for separate criminal offences.

The sentences were handed down by Magistrate Joseph Toby at the Sefadu Magistrate Court.

According to court records, William T. Lamin was convicted of larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916. On the night of Wednesday, April 2nd this year, Lamin stole at least two crates of rubber soft drinks from a shop on Gbensegumbu Street in Tankoro Chiefdom, Koidu City. He pleaded guilty to the charge prior to sentencing. The case was prosecuted by Sergeant 9407 Kabia Patrick.

In a separate matter, Alfred Kamara was also sentenced to six months imprisonment after pleading guilty to obtaining money by false pretence, contrary to Section 32(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916. This offence occurred at No. 61 Main Kainkordu Road, Koidu City, and was also prosecuted by Sgt. 9407 Kabia Patrick.

It is worth noting that William T. Lamin was previously the subject of public attention after reportedly being abandoned to mob justice by officers of the Tankoro Police Divisional Headquarters. The incident occurred on Gbensegumbu Street after Lamin resisted arrest and pretended to be dead.
