Mohamed Jabati, a 38-year-old accountant, and Samuel Mossima, a 24-year-old, appeared before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura at Pademba Road Court No. 8 on charges of Conspiracy to Commit Murder and Murder, contrary to Section 1 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861 (as repealed and replaced by Section 1(a) of the Abolition of the Death Penalty Act 2021, Act No. 6 of 2022).
According to the particulars of the offense, both defendants are accused of conspiring, along with another unidentified person, to commit a felony and murder Kelly Kamara on Sunday, 21st September 2025, at Engine Community, Kaningo Malama, Lumley, Freetown.
In the second charge, it is alleged that both Jabati and Mossima were directly involved in the murder of Kelly Kamara on the same date and location.
Assistant Superintendent of Police M. Barrie, representing the prosecution, requested a short adjournment to tender the statements of the defendants in court.
Magistrate Samura, after considering the seriousness of the charges, refused to grant bail to the defendants. As a result, both Jabati and Mossima were remanded to the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown.
The case has been adjourned to 17th November 2025 for further proceedings.
