Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Court No. 3 Ross Road, Freetown, on Tuesday 11th April 2023, sentenced a motor bike rider Osman Kamara to 3 years imprisonment after he pleaded guilty of a count charge.
The accused Osman Kamara is charged on a count of larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the charge sheet, the accused Osman Kamara on Sunday 18th March 2023, at Jalloh Terrace Kuntorloh Wellington, Freetown, did steal as a bailee one TVS motor bike with registration number AUI 041 valued at twenty-two thousand Leones, entrusted to him by Mohamed Sesay for purpose of running on a commercial basis, property of Mohamed Sesay.
In another development, in the same Court, the same Magistrate, another 3 years imprisonment was also slammed on the convict Alhassan Kamara for fraudulent conversation contrary to Section 20 (1) (iv) (a).
According to the charge sheet the convict Alhassan Kamara on Monday 8th September 2022, at Up gun, Freetown, fraudulently converted to it own use or benefit certain property that is to say one blue HLX TVS motorbike with registration number AMN 017 vvaluedfive thousand Leones entrusted to him by Solomon Papa Turay for commercial purpose.
