Two in Court for Wounding with Intent

The accused persons Lamin Sesay and Kapri Sesay for the first appeared before Hon. Justice Reginal Fynn on the 8th October, 2021 for conspiracy for wounding with intent. The accused persons are before the court on two counts charges.

The particulars of offence state that on count one, the accused persons on the 18th June, 2020 at Bombali district, Makeni in the Northern Province of the Republic of Sierra Leone conspired together with other persons unknown to wound Alpha Kamara with intent to inflict gracious bodily harm.

Count two the accused persons on the 18th June, 2020 at Bombali district; Makeni in the Northern Province of the Republic of Sierra Leone wounded Alpha Kamara with intent to gracious bodily harm.

After the court registrar read the charges both accused persons pleaded not guilty to the offences.

The State Counsel V.E.A. Kabia made an application for both accused persons to be on trial by judge alone instead of a judge and a jury.

The application was granted by the judge as there were no objections.

The State Counsel continued to ask for a date as the witnesses are coming from the provinces and they are making arrangement to get them before the judge on the next date of hearing.

She continued to say that both accused persons are on bail and she is asking for a fourth night adjournment.

Representing the State is V.E.A. Kabia and D. Sawyer while H. Momoh representing both accused persons from the Legal Aid Sierra Leone.
