For the first time both accused persons Abdulai Vamboi and Abdulai Kamara appeared before Magistrate Sahr Keikura of Court No.1 Pademba road Freetown on the 19th May, 2021.
According to the police charged sheets, the accused persons are charged with two counts charges, count one burglary contrary to section 25 (1) and 13 (a) of the Larceny Act 1916 and count two receiving stolen good contrary to section 33 (1) of the larceny Act 1916.
It’s alleged that Abdulai Vamboi on the 6th January, 2021 at No. 21D Kingstella Street, break and entered into the dwelling house of Daniel Pakinson Boima and stole therein one HP Envy computer laptop valued one thousand United States Dollars ($1,000) equivalent to ten million Leones (Le10,000,000/00), one 4G modem valued eight hundred thousand Leones (Le800,000/00), one famtom 8 Tecno mobile phone valued two million eight hundred thousand Leones (Le2,800,000/00), one Atlas wrist watch valued one million eight hundred thousand Leone (Le1,800,000/00), one computer backup device valued four hundred thousand Leones (Le400,000/00) and a fiscal cash of two hundred thousand Leone (Le200,000/00) all to the total value of fifteen million eight hundred thousand Leones (Le15,800,000/00) property of Daniel Parkinson Boima.
On counts two it’s alleged that Abdulai Kamara on the 6th January, 2021 at Banana water, Murray Town Freetown receive one famtom 8 Tecno mobile phone valued two million eight hundred thousand Leone (Le2,800,000/00) knowing same to have been stolen property of Daniel Parkinson Boima.
Lawyer I.S. Sankoh made an application for bail pursuant to section 79 subsections 3 of the Criminal Procedure Act of 1965 and with the Bail Regulation of 2018. However, the Magistrate granted the second accused person bail while the first accused person was sent to the Male Correctional Centre Pademba Road Freetown and there were no lawyer representing the first accused person.
The police prosecuting the case was Sargent 9155 Macarthy D while Lawyer I.S. Sankoh represented the second accused person. The matter has been adjourned to the 24th May, 2021.
