Magistrate Sao Betty Mamakoh Kallon of Pademba Road Court No. 3 has committed the case involving Kenneth Beah Boye and Mohamed Kandeh Sesay to the High Court. The defendants are facing trial on two counts of fraudulent conversion, contrary to Section 20(1)(iv)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the charge sheet, on Sunday, 20th July 2025, at No. 59 Smart Lane, New England Village, Freetown, the accused allegedly fraudulently converted for their own use a property that had been entrusted to them for safekeeping. The property in question is described as a blue and black motorbike, registration number AWA 159, valued at twenty-six thousand Leones, and belonging to Kallon Conteh.

The charges were read to the accused, but no plea was taken.

The prosecution alleged that the motorbike was given to the defendants for safekeeping but was instead dishonestly converted for their personal use.

After preliminary hearings, Magistrate Kallon ruled that the case is indictable and beyond the jurisdiction of the magistrate court. Consequently, she ordered that the matter be transferred to the High Court for trial and committed the defendants to stand trial there.
