Two Cousins On Alleged Electricity Theft

Alpha Margai Adams and Donald Deezee Adams made their first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on one count to wit Dishonestly Consuming electricity supply contrary to section 68 (1) (b) of the National electricity Act No.16 of 2011

According to the particulars of offence on Tuesday 26th October 2021 at No.1 Beach Road Lumley the western area in Freetown dishonestly consumed electricity supply.

The charges was read to the accused persons and pleaded not guilty. 

Counsel representing the accused person Charles I. Williams Esq applied for bail for and on behalf of both accused persons pursuant to section 79 2, 3 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965 the accused person has reliable sureties who are willing and ready to enter into recognizance on their behalf they’re not a flight risk that the accused person will not jumped bail no will they interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses that Bail is at the discretion of the bench.

Magistrate Kekura granted the accused persons Bail in the sum of one hundred million Leones each or one surety each in like sureties to be resident within his jurisdiction both sureties should produce valid identity card depicting his/her addresses in Freetown bail to be approved by the Deputy Acting Registrar.

Sergeant 9155 Dwight Macarthy prosecuting the Matter adjourned to the 21st January 2022.
