Two accused persons Francis Daramay and Solomon Fofanah has been ordered to be remanded at the male correctional center for theft.

The accused persons are charged with conspiracy and larceny contrary to section 2 of the larceny Act of 1916.

It was alleged on count one in the police charge sheet that both accused on Tuesday 14th if September 2023, at No. 20 power magazine conspired together with other persons unknown to commit felony.

On count two, the police alleged that accused persons stole forty eight cartoons of tiles valued nine thousand forty Leones and thirteen length iron rods valued two thousand and eight Leones all to the total of eleven thousand one hundred and twenty new Leones belonging to Complainant Daniel Kossiah.

Led in his examination in chief by Assistant Superintendent of Police MB Conteh, complainant Daniel Kossiah residing at Power magazine grass field recognized both accused as their house help and care taker.

He said on the 14th of September 2023, he was at home in the morning hours to conduct cleaning and went to the store to take a trash can. He said as soon as he opens the store, he noticed plastics littered all over the floor and decided to crosscheck what happened.

Complainant said he discovered that forty eight cartoon tiles, trash cans and fifteen length irons are missing.

Explaining further, he said he asked first accused who denied the allegation. He said as soon as his mother arrived home, he intimated her about the missing items and further reported the matter at Texaco police station.

He said after many interrogation, first accused confessed to his mother and uncle that he took two length of iron rods and board among the missing items which he admitted given to the second accused for said

The police requested for second accused to be arrested as soon as his name was mentioned.

At the police station, complainant said the put the allegation to second accused who denied it but later answered that the first accused give the items to him which he sold to a passerby. He said he later made statement to the police and the scene of crime officer went and take photographs of the scene. Complainant said the police went on search at the resident of second accused and discovered one of the missing trash can which was treated as exhibit.

The total cost of the missing items complainant said amount to over eleven million Leones.

At the conclusion of his examination in chief, the accused persons who were unrepresented and expect to cross examined complainant said they have no questions for him.

However, magistrate Sahr Kekura ordered them to be remanded at the male correctional center and adjourned the matter to Monday the 9th of October 2023 for further hearings.
