Sierra Leone Tug of War, Mass Wrestling, athletes on 2nd September 2023 resumed training ahead of their international tournament that is set to kick off in November this year in Northern Ireland.
Karafala Kello Thouranka the Secretary General of the Sierra Leone Mass Wrestling, and Tug of War said the team is in high preparation ahead of the international tournament in Ireland as the head coach and athletes are mentally and physically focused in the training session as the boys and girls are fully committed to the different sessions.
He confirmed that the Tug of Sport is set to kick-Off in November this year in Ireland and there is a huge optimism that when the athletes go for the tournament they are going to grab medals for Mama Sierra Leone, he noted that all their international tournament they have been doing huge impact and there is high hopes in the camp now to bring the home gold medals this time around in Sierra Leone, as the athletes are highly committed to the usual training session on every weekend at the Aberdeen Beach.
He further that, the training Venue at Aberdeen Beach has been the ideal place because now, the Siaka Stevens Stadium is presently under rehabilitation work why is the team using Aberdeen Beach to do their training workout session.
He assured Sierra Leone that team Sierra Leone is going to bring home gold medals in the tournament in Ireland, noting that their major challenge now is their Government which is not forthcoming for most Sporting disciplining in the Country, but stressed that they are ready to represent Sierra Leone the fullest in tournament and bring home the medals and trophy back in their outing. Noting that the team has been in Camp for the past year now because last year they braced up for the tournament, but most of the athletes did not make the trip because of Visa issues, but confident this time around the team is more prepared for their international tournament in Ireland.
Sierra Leone Tug of War, Mass wrestling athletes have been doing great when they go out to represent the Country in International outings, and with huge preparations put in place, there is huge optimism for the Sport.
