In a powerful demonstration of unity and collaboration, the Council of Tribal Heads in Bo recently paid a courtesy visit to the Regional Police Commander for the South, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Andrew Mustapha Kamara.

The high-level delegation, led by Chairman Mohamed Mustapha of Bo City, used the opportunity to officially introduce themselves as a recognized council and reaffirm their willingness to partner with the Sierra Leone Police in enhancing peace, security, and community development across the Southern Region.

AIG Kamara, accompanied by his Deputy Regional Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mrs. Fatmata Jebeh Daboh Kamara, welcomed the team at his regional office in Bo. He expressed deep appreciation for the visit, describing it as a significant step toward strengthening the relationship between the police and the community. AIG Kamara emphasized that modern policing cannot succeed in isolation and requires strong collaboration between law enforcement agencies and community stakeholders.

“Policing in the 21st century thrives on community engagement,” said AIG Kamara. “With a population much larger than the police force, it is through initiatives such as the Local Policing Partnership Boards (LPPB) and Community Safety Volunteers (CSV) that we are able to bridge the gap between the police and the public. These structures make our work more efficient, effective, and impactful.”

In support of this collaborative vision, the Council’s Financial Secretary, Mr. Samuel Haffna of Kiss 104.1 FM, pledged the Tribal Heads’ continued commitment to assisting the police in maintaining law and order. He stressed that the Council values peace and stability as essential for development and assured that traditional leaders will remain steadfast partners in safeguarding their communities.

The meeting concluded with a group photograph, symbolizing unity, cooperation, and a shared commitment to creating safer and more peaceful communities in the region.
