In the bid to move off the Diamond Stars Football Club from its relegated position in terms of enjoying sporting facilities in the district and the country as a whole a Philanthropist and business man Alhaji Abdulai Sidibay has donated a brand new bus to the Diamond Stars football club at a ceremony held at the main Kainkordu roan in Koidu City. The said donation of the brand new bus to the Diamond Stars football club was done alongside the symbolic commissioning of at least one Hundred and Fifty (150) Sierra Stars commercial buses by Alhaji Abdulai Sidibay. Commissioning the bus, Sidibay the Bomber as he is fondly called intimated the audiences that the buses launched are to cushion the herculean challenges in the transport sector in the District and the country as a whole.
He said irrespective of the discount aspect in the transportation fare of the buses, air conditional, freezers to cold drinks and tea or coffee service including pre storage of passengers luggage prior to departure time the following day are among the facilities the Sierra Stars buses launched provide. The Proprietor of the Sierra Stars buses assured people plying with the buses of their safety and comfortability as his company has come to completely change the narrative in the transport sector in the country. commenting on the donation of the brand new bus to the Diamond Stars Football Club Alhaji Sidibay maintained that the bus donated will not only ease the movement of the players and officials of the club from one point to another, but it will also give a face lift to the club and respect to the Kono People.
He discussed plans to pay back to Kono District as a son of the soil and implored all and sundry to give peace and development a chance in the District. Receiving the brand new bus, the Diamond Stars Football club team Manager Paul Ngeba Saquee who also doubles as the paramount chief of Tankoro Chiefdom, Kono District foremost registered his profound thanks and appreciation to Alhaji Abdulai Sidibay for donating the bus to his club as it is a felt need.
He told everyone present that the bus donated will be judiciously used in order to stand the test of time.
Meanwhile driving of the donated bus by the team Manager P.C. Saquee at the community football field and a friendly football match at the aforementioned football field formed high point of the commissioning of the one hundred and fifty Sierra Stars buses and the donation of the brand new bus to the Diamond Stars football club.
