Diamond Center College – Sierra Leone, under the visionary leadership of CEO and Proprietor Dr. David Chris Nze, has launched a groundbreaking scholarship program aimed at empowering twenty women in the country’s mining sector. This initiative represents a major step toward dismantling the long-standing narrative of women being confined to undervalued, low-level roles within the industry.

For decades, women in Sierra Leone’s mining sector have been relegated to jobs such as cleaners, tea servers, laundry staff, basic security personnel, and other menial positions. Despite their significant presence in the sector, opportunities for women to take on skilled, technical, and decision-making roles have remained limited.

Recognizing this inequality, Dr. David Chris Nze has developed a forward-thinking plan to help transform the mining landscape. His vision for the scholarship program is to equip women with the necessary skills and knowledge to assume leadership roles, thereby empowering them to become active contributors to the industry’s growth and development.
