Trader Remanded Awaiting Sentencing for Possession of 60.4 Grams of Kush

Justice Kalila Diana Kamara of High Court No. 2, Siaka Stevens Street, Freetown, has adjourned the sentencing of Alie Kamara, a trader who pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a prohibited drug without lawful authority, contrary to Section 8(a) of the National Drug Control Act 2008 (Act No. 10 of 2008).

According to the particulars of the offence, on 22nd June 2024 in Freetown, Kamara was found in possession of 60.4 grams of Kush without lawful authorization.

When the charge was read and explained, the defendant pleaded guilty.

Justice Kamara refused bail and remanded the defendant to the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown for record purposes. The matter has been *adjourned to 4th December 2025 for sentencing.
