The Area Chief of Boroma Town in Tankoro Chiefdom, Kono District Chief Sahr Bayeh has accused the Koakoyima Town Chief, Chief Sahefeah Doe of deterring development in his town. The Area Chief of Boroma Town made the accusation in an exclusive interview with our correspondent with regards the update on development in his town.
According to Chief Sahr Bayeh, since the death of the substantive Town Chief of Boroma in Tankoro Chiefdom, Kono District, they have not been considered for any developmental project. He noted that whenever development is to be effected in Boroma Town, his colleague Chief Sahrfeah Doe stops it for no just cause. He maintained that Boroma being one of the towns that constitutes Koidu city lacks the following basic facilities: Pure drinking water, Schools, Health centres among many other basic amenities.
Chief Sahr Bayeh pointed out that the Meya Mining Company at one point in time promised to build a water dam for the people of Boroma Town but it never materialized instead it was later built in Koakoyima which he described as the handiwork of Chief Sahrfeah Doe. “I don’t understand why my town and Koakoyima should not equally benefit from developmental projects when Boroma is older than Koakoyima Chief Sahr Buyah asked”.
Meanwhile, efforts by our correspondent to contact Chief Sahrfeah Doe on the accusation made by his colleague Chief Sahr Bayeh proved futile.
However, during a privileged conversation with our correspondent Chief Sahrfeah Doe denied the accusation noting that he has brought so many development projects in Boroma Town.
