The Town Chief of Sofidu in Koidu city Chief Alhaji Bakarr has expressed dismay over his people for not adhering to the existing personal hygiene measures in the aforementioned town with special reference to the habit of people dumping their garbage under the bridge that links Yindimi and Sofidu towns. Chief Bakarr expressed his displeasure to A-Z multimedia in an exclusive interview with our correspondent with regards some people in his town disposing their waste under the aforesaid bridge noting that in not too distance future as we are approaching the raining season proper, the bridge will serve as a major source of infecting malaria, typhoid and other related sicknesses.
He further pointed out that apart from people disposing their waste under the bridge that links the aforesaid towns, majority of his people in Sofidu town do not clean their environment which he described as unfortunate. Chief Alhaji Bakarr has therefore urged everyone in Sofidu town to be cleaning their environment and register with the city council waste management for their garbage or waste to be collected and thrown in an ideal place that will not pose any health implications.
Concluding, the town chief of Sofidu called on the Mayor of the municipality of Koidu His worship Ambassador Komba Mathew Sam to prevail on the two local Unit Commanders in Kono District so that Sofidu community will also have security coverage as the town is becoming hell on earth.
