In fulfilment of one of their core values, the TOBMAX Foundation for Humanity and Leadership has on Friday the 21st January, 2022, at the Holy Trinity Secondary School Kenema, donated text books on all subjects of all SSS faculties and major subjects’ text books to the JSS sector.
Giving an overview of the Foundation, the erstwhile Scribe, Dauda Buanie Sheriff said the TOBMAX Entity was founded and is still resting on tripodal phenomena, Intellectualism, Liberalism and Unionism.
He continued that, the TOBMAX Entity was not operating within the four corners of the wall of the school and that TOBMAX doesn’t incorporate anybody that has not gotten at least 5 Credits at WASSCE.
“Attending Tee School has already qualified you to be one of us. But to be a Brahmin of TOBMAX, you have to pass your WASSCE with at least 5 Credits and pass through some tough crucibles.” Buanie disclosed.
Brain furthered that, the pupils of the Holy Trinity Secondary School Kenema were lucky for choosing to attend the only 100% Boys Secondary School in the Eastern Province of Sierra Leone. He said, the school has led and is still leading in the academic arena in the East. He encouraged the boys to read those books and be prepared to do well in both their internal and external examinations.
Delivering the Keynote address, one of the traditional foundations of the TOBMAX Entity, Ambassador Rex Bhonapha said the Foundation was in the school to do what exactly they were taught during their Secondary school days, viz: giving back to the school.
He said they are here to donate books to the school library.
“This is just the beginning of so many developmental plans we have for this school. We have plan to construct pavilion for the school that will be the best in arena of schools in this country, open a Literary and Debating Society (L&DS) Secretariat, request to the administration to assign a special teacher that will serve as a coach for the school’s public speakers, organize Quiz and Debating Competition among classes in the school with the aim of scouting good speakers that will be representing the school at National Platforms and so many more,” he said.
Sonny Sinic Brahmin Bhonapha encouraged the boys to take their school works seriously and to comport themselves because discipline is a hallmark of the school.
Receiving the books on behalf of TOBA National Executive, the Deputy National Secretary General, Sonny Sinic Brahmin Solomon Vandy Koi, who doubles as the National Coordinator of TOBMAX Foundation for Humanity and Leadership, said he was very proud of what his colleague Old Boys of the school have done for their Alma-mater.
He disclosed to the Foundation that the National Executive has identified a serious challenge in the school’s Science Faculty with regards inadequate teachers to teach.
He pleaded on behalf of the school to the Foundation to look among them and to provide for the school and their members in a way that will ameliorate the inadequacy of teachers to teach the Sciences.
He told the Principal of the school, Mr. Patrick Sandy that there are members of the TOBMAX Entity that are doing well at teaching in other schools. He furthered that he was going to encourage them to be coming around to help their school.
The Vice Principal of Holy Trinity Secondary School Kenema, SSS sector, Mr. Osman Ahmed in receiving the books he encouraged his pupils to make better use of those books that their seniors have donated to them.
He continued that what TOBMAX has done for the school was exactly what they are teaching the Boys almost every day.
He concluded by thanking the TOBMAX Foundation for Humanity and Leadership for their relentless effort to paying back to their school.
