In a bid to compliment the effort of government in providing affordable, accessible and comfortable housing facilities for Sierra Leoneans, the E.A.P Group of Companies has commenced work on their Motherland City Project for the construction of five thousand real time estate housing units for Sierra Leoneans at the York Village.
Addressing journalists at the project site, the Chief Executive Officer for the Motherland City Project Daniel Phoro-Kanu, intimated that after the civil war in Sierra Leone, there had been huge demands for housing particularly across the city of Freetown. He added that such demands precipitated the company to help remedy the housing lacuna in the country by building affordable housing for Sierra Leoneans. He said they are doing such in three categories which include the basics category wherein, every Sierra Leonean would be able to afford for housing, the Economy class for middle income earners, and the premium for those who need high class houses.
The Chief Executive Officer disclosed that the company had procured 53 acres of land for such project of which the said land is registered in the name of the company. He reiterated that they are hoping to building five thousand units of affordable houses for Sierra Leoneans as the get subscribers showing interest in the housing projects. He assured the general public that the project had commenced with the clearing of the project site
He also intimated that the fees for the affordable housing is NLe 60 per day and NLE1,800 per months for two bed room house with a beautiful accommodation. He said the project also geared towards complimenting the effort of government in providing affordable and accessible housing units. He edified that the company is a private owned company but their mission is to compliment the effort of government in providing affording housing for citizens. He maintained that receipt of payment for houses would be provided to all their clients once payment is made. He also assured the general public that the properties they are constructing belong to them adding that, the properties are physical real estates.
Daniel Phoro-Kanu also acknowledged that the EAP Group of Company is aware of the recent developments surrounding their former Chairman of the company. He clarified that in the interest of the integrity of the project and the assurance towards delivery by the EAP Group of companies, their Chairman Professor Alex O. Philip had stepped down as chairman of the company with immediate effect from the 2nd of March 2023. He reassured the general public that the EAP Group of Companies is a registered business within Sierra Leone and had not at any point during their period of operations, been charged or found wanton of any fraudulence activity.
He continued that the EAP Group remains committed to progress with the Motherland City Project. He also expressed optimism to complete the project within the projected timeline. He said work had commenced at satisfactorily pace at the project site.
