The Former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mr. Anthony Brewah has donated two vehicles to the Sierra Leone People Party (SLPP)for the use of the SLPP Moyamba District and Constituency 098 to enhance voter registration and campaign for the party to retain power after 2023 elections.
Donating the vehicles to the Deputy Leader of SLPP who double as the Vice President, Dr. Mohammed Juldeh Jalloh, He said he donated because of the love he has for the SLPP party and his determination for SLPP to stay in governance for the benefits of the common man and the development of the country. He disclosed that they have been trained as foot soldiers of the party. He assured me that he will always be ready to avail himself of the party whenever he is called upon.
The former Attorney General also encouraged presidential appointees and others that have received businesses, and contracts to promote the party to support the party to stay in governance. He noted that if the Party loses power loses the opportunities and appointments. He donated to Moyamba district Council, doing the SLPP stakeholders meeting over the weekend.
Receiving the gift, on behalf of the Leader of Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), President Julius Maada Bio, the Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, lauded the former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mr. Anthony Brewah for the gifts to support the registration and campaign. He acknowledged the kind heart of the former Attorney General and Minister of Justice and hope others will emulate his footprint.
Vice President Juldeh Jalloh also intimated that he would report to the Leader of the party about the generous gift donated by the former AG. Hon. Vice President explained that the government of President Bio has been involved in radical and inclusive development across the country. He said when they took over in 2018, the economy started to do very well from 2019 to 2020. COVID-19 and the Russia and Ukraine war reversed the gains made by the government. He added that the Bio-led Government started social and capital developments which increased the national budget allocation to Education by 22% of the GDP and also the sector. He said at the time the economy was doing very well. He said they have recruited thousands of medical officers, and teachers and touched lives.
He noted that they have built more classrooms, improved the health sector, and rural electrification among other developments. He disclosed that the Ministry of Finance has made all payments for district towns’ electrification projects. He assured the people of Moyamba district the Songo/Mbange road will be constructed as the road is a priority to the government, noting that they believed that road will open up businesses and help a lot of people.
He stated that COVID-19 and the Russia/Ukraine war slow down development and investment. The Vice President praised the Ministers and stakeholders for their efforts in the registration process and encouraged them to do more. He said SLPP is the only party that will move the country forward. He added that is essential for stakeholders to give first-hand interaction, how they have gone through the challenges, and reorganize themselves for the voter registration be lauded SLPP Chairman in Moyamba district for his mechanism to address the challenges, operation and fundraising and sensitization.
In his statement, the Moyamba District SLPP Chairman, Rev. Smart Sensesie lauded the former AG for his mind gesture; he said the gifts will be used for their intended purposes. He asserted that the Moyamba district has produced a lot of head States including President Julius Maada Bio but they are list underdeveloped. He said “we hope in the second term of President Bio Moyamba will be developed. He called the government to construct the Mbang and Songo Road.
