With support from UNICEF, the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) has trained key staff on Monitoring and Evaluation. The training is to recalibrate the M and E systems by enhancing staff knowledge on Result Based Management, data management and M and E processes and procedures.

In her opening statement, the Commissioner of NaCSA, Dr. Sao-Kpato Hannah Isatta Max-Kyne reiterated that M&E is a core component of programme implementation and the training will recalibrate the M&E systems to catch up with the rapid delivery vehicle.

“… a comprehensive institutional review has been conducted with a promising pathway to recalibrate the operations of the Commission. We are deliberate and committed to rapidly deliver on all projects and seek to commence new projects’’, She noted.

Government continued commitment and confidence indicate the Commission’s relevance to service delivery and poverty reduction. In accordance with the provision of NaCSA Act of 2019, the Commission gains its permanent status as one of government agencies. The Act 2019 was amended to accommodate appropriate responses to emerging demands for the Commission’s role in promoting sustained poverty reduction.

The Senior Director of Programmes, Raymond Bob-Katta underscores the relevance of Monitoring and evaluation and pleaded with participants to take every aspect of the training with the utmost importance.‘’… this is the make-or-break stage, our rapid delivery systems require a robust monitoring and evaluation strength; capable of Tracking resources, providing accurate and timely Feedback on progress, improving project effectiveness, promoting accountability, demonstrating impact and Identifying lessons learned’’* He Concluded.

The participants’ coverage included project officers, Managers, Regional and District Coordinators, program Directors and other technical staff with a role in result-based management. The trainees expressed optimism that the training will ensure a timely project intervention.
