Titti Bonnie is a board member of the Paul School for the Blind and a retired civil servant.
The school observed its foundation day last Friday, 18th February 2022.
It was the first of its kind since 1997 and the occasion was colorful.
Mr. Titti Bonnie is the father of one of our best legal minds, Hannah Boi Bonnie, a sitting high court judge in Freetown.
The occasion was meant to highlight the strides and achievements made by the school under the leadership of Mohamed Conteh. He has served on the board for several years that has ensured the steady progress of an institution for visually- impaired.
Challenges persist through but institutions with government and donor support have been steadily making progress.
Paul School for the Blind is the only institution in the south for visually- impaired that is co- educational and making the difference in a community that is poverty- infested.
On the occasion, Mr. Titti Bonnie oversaw the giving out of prizes to deserving pupils. The school has an alumni association that is helpful in the running of the school. When government subvention comes late, Titti Bonnie and other board members ensure that donors step in to get the school going. The school has produced several university graduates.
