Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 has committed three accused individuals 37-year-old Solomon Labbie, 32-year-old Abdul Kamara, and 65-year-old Olive Bendu to stand trial before the High Court on charges of assault.

According to the particulars of the offence, the incident occurred on Saturday, 14th September 2024, at Kargbo Town, Goderich, in the Freetown Judicial District. The prosecution alleges that the trio assaulted Amidu Kamara, causing him actual bodily harm.

During the preliminary inquiry, the charges were read and explained to the defendants. No plea was entered, as it was a preliminary investigation.

In delivering his ruling, Magistrate Jah stated that after assessing the evidence and hearing from the prosecution, he was satisfied that a prima facie case had been established against the accused. He therefore committed the matter to the High Court for trial.

Magistrate Jah further ordered that the defendants remain on their current bail conditions while awaiting the commencement of proceedings at the High Court.
