Alhaji Kamara a driver, Umaru Mohamed Kamara an operator and Daniel Conteh a plumber made their first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No.2 in Freetown on two count charges to wit Conspiracy contrary to law and Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on Monday 7th October 2024 at the Kissy industry limited company Kissy the western Area in Freetown conspired together and with other persons unknown to steal refined cooking oil property of the Kissy industry company.
Count two further stated that on the same date and place the accused person stole 6.52 rons of cooking oil valued two hundred and thirty-two thousand Leones (232,000) Property of Kissy industry Limited.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused persons, they pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor Deputy Superintendent of police Sorie Conteh sought for a short adjournment date for him to get proper conference with his witness.
Counsel representing the accused person B.S Koroma Esq applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused persons that they are Sierra Leonean resident within this jurisdiction that they have reliable sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognisance on their behalf they are not a flight risk adding that they will not interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses nor will they jumped bail he made his application pursuant to section 79 (3) of the Criminal Procedure Act No.32 of 1965.
Meanwhile Magistrate Bangura granted bail to the accused persons in the sum of two hundred and fifty Leones with two sureties each in like sum these sureties must be resident herein Freetown must be responsible citizens they must be either gainfully employed or established business men and show proof of it bail to be approved by the Master and Registrar of the High court. Matter adjourned to the 16th December 2024.
