The Managing Director of Total Sierra Leone, Madam Elizabeth Sotuminu, Michaela Bowen John Human Resource Manager Total Sierra Leone and Patrick Chuluba Finance Manager/Compliance Manager Total Sierra Leone have on Friday 26 February, 2021 appeared before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Court No. 1 in Freetown for threatening the complainant, George A.W Pyne-Bailey an Engineer/Manager for Wemokah International.
The three defendants are charged on three counts of threatening remarks contrary to Section 3 (i) of the Public Order Act of No. 46 of 1965, insulting conduct contrary to Section 3 (i) of the Public Order Act No. 46 of 1965, abusive language contrary to Section 3 (ii) of the Public Order Act No. 46 of 1965 and conspiracy contrary to law.
According to the charge sheet on count 1, the 2nd and 3rd defendants Michaela Bowen-John and Patrick Chuluba respectively, on Tuesday 26 March 2019, at Total office No.29B Wilkinson road Freetown did make use of threatening remarks against the complainant herein (George Aina Winston Pyne-Bailey), with intent to provoke him commit a breach of the peace.
Count 2 states that the 2nd and 3rd defendants, Michaela Bowen-John and Patrick Chuluba, on Tuesday 26 March 2019, at Total office 29B Wilkinson road Freetown, did make use of insulting languages against the complainant with intent to provoke him to commit a breach of the peace.
Count 3 statement of offence the 2nd and 3rd defendants Michaela Bowen-John and Patrick Chuluba on Tuesday 26 March 2019, at Total office 29B Wilkinson road Freetown, did make use of abusive language to the annoyance of the complainant George Aina Winston Pyne-Bailey.
Count 4 statement of offence the 2nd 3rd and 4th defendants Elizabeth Sotuminu, Michaela Bowen-John and Patrick Chuluba on diverse dates between 26 March 2019 to 12 September 2019, at Total office No. 29B Wilkinson road, Freetown, conspired together with other person’s unknown to commit a felony.
Five staffers from Total were charged to court on this matter, but the 1st and 5th defendants Rose Nkada and Xavier Marque were discharged. The rest were granted bail.
Rashid Dumbuya Esq. is representing the complainant and lawyer Betts is defending, matter adjourned to the 12 March 2021.
