Theft At LEOCEM: Accused Remanded

Yusifu Koroma made his first appearance before Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Ross Road court no.3 in Freetown on a two counts indictment.

According to charge statement of the accused person Yusifu Koroma is charged with Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916, particulars of the offence reads that the accused Yusifu Koroma on Sunday 13th August 2023 at LEOCEM Cement Factory Bett Street Cline Town in the Freetown Judicial District of the Republic of Sierra Leone did steal Eighty Five Mill Meter 16×4, Four Conveyor motor cable valued Fourteen Thousand Eight Hundred Leones (14,800/00) property of LEOCEM Cement Factory.

On count two Malicious Damage contrary to section 51 of the Malicious Damage Act 1861, to which his particulars of offence states that the accused Yusifu Koroma on Sunday 13th August 2023 at LEOCEM Cement Factory Bett Street Cline Town in the Freetown Judicial District in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone Maliciously Damaged eighty five millimeter 16 by 4, Four Conveyor motor cable valued at Fourteen Thousand Eight Hundred Leones property of LEOCEM Cement Factory.

Upon arraignment, the accused pleaded not guilty to both charges, Magistrate Hadiru Daboh had remanded the accused in custody for further investigation. No legal representation for the accused and Sergeant Fofanah H.S Prosecuting.

Matter has been adjourned to the 30th August 2023.
