The TEXACO Community Team has appointed Alfred Conteh, former Assistant Coach of the Port Authority, to lead the team in this year’s Approved School Sport Inter-Community League.
At the official unveiling, Conteh expressed his enthusiasm for the role, stating, “I am thrilled to be named the head coach of this esteemed Community Team. I look forward to contributing my expertise and helping the team excel in this year’s Community League at the Approved School Playing Field.”
Conteh noted that preparations for the season have been underway for some time, with players currently honing the system he intends to implement in the Inter-Community League.
He emphasized the team’s mission for the competition: “Our goal this year is to win the League. With our homegrown talent, I am confident that we will deliver strong performances in this highly competitive arena.”
The ASSPA Inter-Community League is known for its intense competition, featuring renowned Community Teams that have registered to participate. This year, expectations are high, especially as organizers have increased the prize money to 150,000 new Leones.
The opening ceremony of the Approved School Sport Promoters 2025 will take place on Friday, where the defending champions, Kuntoloh Community, will face off against Wellington Community.
