The head of operations Tankoro Police Divisional Headquarters in Koidu City Kono District, Deputy Superintendent of police Tamba Kamanoh has said that the withholding of vital information by members of the public is seriously disturbing the smooth operations of his unit at the Tankoro Police divisional headquarters in Koidu City Kono District.
DSP. Kamanoh made the statement in an interview with A-Z whilst responding to the concerns of some residents of Gbetuwa , James Sinnah Streets and Bullom area in Koidu City that thieves are on the rampage in their communities and as a result they find it very difficult to sleep with both eyes close at night.
Those who spoke to our correspondent noted that there is a group of thieves that have settled nearly a swamp at Gbetuwa Street who do patrol in a blue car with a Guinean registration number plate thereby disturbing the peace of meaningful citizens in those communities in the municipality of Koidu.
The residents of the aforementioned communities in Koidu City who spoke to this medium maintained that in one of the operations of the reported thieves, they succeeded in carting away with a television set, Jerrycans of Palm oil including household materials worth Millions of Leones from a woman who recently lost her husband.
Responding to the aforesaid concerns raised by some residents of the highlighted communities in Koidu City, the head of operations at the Tankoro Police divisional headquarters noted that the concerns raised might be true but denied knowledge of been reported at his unit or division.
He noted that the police can only intervene in such situations when they get tip off or when official reports are made upon which they can mount their policing skills to address the said uncalled for situations.
He therefore pleaded with all and sundry to be sharing vital information with the police so that the much talked about community policing will be of help for all.
