Student in Jail for Obtaining Money by False Pretense

Edward Sesay student at Fourah Bay College has been remanded in custody at the Male correctional center in Freetown.

The accused person made his first appearance before magistrate Isata Sellu Tucker of Court No 3 Pademba Road, Freetown, for duping two people, Chief Joko Sandy and one Zainab Bockarie for admission of their child at Saint Joseph`s Convent.

 The accused is brought on two separate files of conspiracy to commit a felony and obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.

 On both files, the accused Edward Sesay sometimes in August 2021, at Saint Joseph Convent School, Syke Street, Freetown, obtained the sum of two million five hundred thousand Leones from Zainab Bockarie with the pretext that he will facilitate the admission of her daughter Isatu Kamara at Saint Joseph`s Convent School,  knowing the same to be false. On the other file the same accused conspired with other people on the 10 August 2021 at the same school obtained three million Leones from Chief Joko Sandy with the pretext that he will facilitate the admission of Victoria Sandy into the said Saint Joseph`s Convent School which is known to be false.

Inspector Francis Macualey is Prosecuting the matter, the accused person was unrepresented. The matter is adjourned to the 21st September 2021.
