President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, has encouraged the national U-17 male team as they prepare for the upcoming WAFU U-17 tournament in Mali this October.
Addressing the players after their Tuesday morning training session, President Babadi reminded them that both those who eventually make the final squad and those left out are all ‘winners.’ He urged the boys to remain committed even beyond the selection process, respect their coaches, and avoid drug abuse, stressing that discipline and health are key to a successful football career.
The SLFA President also assured the players that the technical staff will be given a free hand to select the team on merit without bias. He noted that the squad will move to Bo for residential training, making use of the free facilities to reduce FA costs.
“You have the skills and ability to play at continental and world level. Do your best and make Sierra Leone proud,” he told the players.
Head Coach Dominic Konneh thanked the SLFA President for his continued support and promised that the technical team would select the right players and work hard to qualify.
