A high-powered delegation from Statistics Sierra Leone (Stats-SL), led by Council Chairman Mr. Moses Williams, departed Makeni on the morning of December 11, 2025, for an on-the-spot monitoring mission of the ongoing pilot census in Mara Chiefdom, Bombali District.
The delegation includes the National Census Coordinator, Mr. Abdulai Salia Brima; the Director of Statistical Systems, Mr. Francis Tommy; the Administrative Head, Madam Amie Zombo (A-Z); Principal Statistician and Regional Census Officer, Mr. Amadu Sheriff; the Northern Regional Publicity Officer, Mr. Alusine Rehme Wilson; the Bombali District Census Officer, Mr. Francis Sahr Josiah; and Council Member, Mr. Khali Samura.
The team’s mission is to assess progress, ensure data quality, and provide support to field staff conducting the pilot census an essential preparatory exercise for the 2026 National Population and Housing Census.
According to National Census Coordinator Mr. Abdulai Salia Brima, the field visit reflects the leadership’s commitment to transparency, accuracy, and effective coordination as the institution intensifies preparations for the nationwide count.
