On February 14, 2026, Star Sport Academy FC unveiled its latest equipment at the Sierra Leone Football Association Academy Field. This event marked a significant step in the club’s ongoing commitment to enhancing player development and training resources.
CEO Yankuba Tarawallie spoke about the unveiling, emphasizing the club’s dedication to elevating Sierra Leonean football on the international stage. He noted that while winning the 2025/2026 Leone Rock Premier League is a goal, the primary focus remains on long-term development. Tarawallie expressed confidence that Star Sport Academy aims to become the leading football academy in Africa within the next decade.
He acknowledged the challenges faced along the way but highlighted the progress made in overcoming them. Tarawallie stated that the club is on a promising trajectory and is determined to achieve its vision for the future of football in Sierra Leone.
Currently, efforts to fully operationalize the academy facilities are well underway. With land secured, the club has enlisted top architects to design an ultra-modern football academy. Tarawallie confirmed that a comprehensive academy project will be unveiled next week, further solidifying their commitment to youth development and enhancing football infrastructure.
The unveiling of new equipment underscores the club’s dedication to improving training conditions for its academy players. The upcoming academy project launch is expected to introduce various facilities and coaching programs.
Additionally, new players will be introduced on Monday, just before the club’s next Premier League match, where they currently lead the league standings.
