The Minister of Sports, Madam Augusta James-Teima, will on Monday, November 10th, lead a top management delegation to Bo and Kenema to inspect football pitches ahead of Sierra Leone’s hosting of the first-ever International 16-Nation U-15 Academy Tournament in April next year.
The visit forms part of ongoing preparations to ensure facilities meet international standards.
Madam James-Teima, a sports professional herself, has been widely praised for her dynamic and result-driven leadership, which has ushered in new energy and structure within Sierra Leone’s sports sector.
Only last week, the Minister led representatives from over a dozen sports associations and federations to State House, where President Julius Maada Bio honoured their national and international achievements in a colourful ceremony, an unprecedented show of recognition and motivation for the country’s athletes.
Under Madam James-Teima’s leadership, Sierra Leone’s sports landscape continues to grow stronger, with inclusive plans aimed at developing opportunities for men, women, youth, and the physically challenged across all disciplines.
