54 years old Solomon Desmond Kargbo a sport Administrator made his first appearance before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on four different files ranging from Obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence on CS 2839/2023 the accused person on a date unknown between the 1st August to 20th October 2022 at No.12 New Street Kingtom the western area in Freetown with intent to defraud obtained the sum of twenty three thousand seven hundred and fifty Leone (23, 75000) from Aminata Sento Kamara with the pretext that he will facilitate her movement From Sierra Leone to Australia knowing same to be false.

Count two at the same place and date obtained the sum of seven thousand six hundred and fifty Leones (7,65000) from Augustine Conteh with the pretext that he will facilitate his movement from Sierra Leone to Australia knowing same to be false on CS 2947/2023 the accused person on a date unknown between 1st to 30th November 2022 obtained the sum two thousand eight hundred United States dollars equivalent to the sum of sixty seven thousand Leones (6700) from Tejan Korosa with the pretext that he will facilitate the movement of Marie Sesay, Matilda Tengbeh and his Son Tejan Korosa to Australia, Spain and Ireland respectively knowing same to be false.

 On file CS 1710/2023 the accused person sometimes between 1st to 28th February 2023 at Syke Street the western area in Freetown with intent to defraud obtained the sum of three thousand four hundred United States dollars and the sum of ten thousand Leones all to the total sum of ninety thousand nine hundred and twenty Leones(90,920) with the pretext that he will facilitate the travelling of five of her children to the United States of America knowing same to be false on CS 2829/2023 the accused person on diverse dates between 1st June to 30th August 2022 at No.12 New Street Kingtom the western area in Freetown with intent to defraud obtained the sum of ninety six thousand Leones(96,000) from Lucy Savage with the pretext that he will facilitate her movement to Ireland knowing same to be false on count two the accused person on the same date and place obtained the sum of fifty five thousand Leones(55,000) from Yvette Sawyer that he will facilitate her travelling to Ireland knowing same to be false.

When the charges were read and explained to the accused person; no plea was taken.

Counsel representing the accused person L.S Dumbuya applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person that he is a Sierra Leonean resident within this jurisdiction that he has reliable sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognizance on his behalf he will not interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses nor will he jumped bail.

Bail was granted to the accused person in the sum of fifty thousand Leones with eight sureties in all four different files and the said sureties must have more than fifty thousand new Leones in their respective bank account; bail to be approved by the Deputy assistant Registrar.

The matter was adjourned to the 13th October 2023 for further hearing, while Assistant Superintendent of police Ibrahim S Mansaray prosecuting the matters.
