Solicitor`s Clerk Granted Le50m Bail

James Tommy Mansaray a Clerk to Ngakui and Co. Chambers made another appearance before magistrate Mark Ngegba of pademba road court No.2 in Freetown on one count charge to wit Larceny by servant contrary to section 17 (1) (a) of the Act 1916.

According to the charge sheet, it was alleged that on the 24th May 2021 at Ngakui and Co. Chambers at No.5 George street the western Area in Freetown being a clerk employed by the Ngakui and Co. Chambers stole the sum of nineteen million five hundred and twenty five thousand Leones (19,525,000) through one commercial bank cheque with serial number 03599209 property of Deborah Tara Walie whilst in custody of Jacob Campbell.

The Lawyer representing the accused person Charlie .R. Williams applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person that he is a Sierra Leonean and he has reliable sureties that are reliable and he is not a flight risk and he is a solicitor’s clerk he has been in that position for years now he made his application pursuant to section 79 sub section of the criminal procedure Act 1965.

Magistrate Mark Ngegba giving his ruling granted the accused person bail in the sum of 50m Leones two sureties in like sum one surety who must be 40 years old and must produce any form of identification card to be approved by the DAR.

Sergeant 10198 Hannah Newstead is prosecuting the matter.

The matter is adjourned to the 3rd July 2021.
