He says, “I will start this Presentation with our national President Oness Abayomi Johnson, and he is assisted by Mrs. Janet Bockarie Alie, as the Vice President of the Association. And for the Association to get gender balance it also brought another female in the person of Madam Patricia Wesley who is the Treasurer of the Association and in charge of the finances of the Association.

He continued to say “For the Association’s activities to reach the Public; it has two gentlemen in the persons of Jaffa Mans-Davies, the Public Relations Officer (1) alongside Mohamed Abu Conteh, the Public Relations Officer (2) as both of them are members of the fourth estate. The two are charged with the responsibility to publicize the activities of the Taekwondo Association in and outside the country.

Note that this nine-man Executive member is in charge of man the affairs of the Association for the next four years.

He concluded saying the Association has over the years made many strides to promote the Taekwando sport in the Country, but stressed, however, that it has been getting little or no support from the government to represent Sierra Leone which he noted has made it challenging for the association.

The response from the National Olympic Committee came from Dr Patrick Coker the President of the said Committee who in his statements said:

“I am pleased that the Sierra Leone Taekwondo Association has gone through its elections and it now has an Executive seeing the full executive this afternoon shows it has decided to work together as a team meaning it’s not only about a one-man show, but a teamwork that will help the Sport to develop in the Country.”

He called on the executives to work as a team for the development of the sport in the Country, and with that, they can achieve their aims and objectives in making Taekwondo an enviable sport in Sierra Leone.

The Secretary General of the Association at the end of the meeting disclosed that they have similarly planned to visit the National Sports Authority in the coming days.
