Chairman of the Sierra Leone People’s Party North America Region Desmond Pessima, has condemned the violence protest against the state adding that, the vague political ideology to jump to the streets of Eastern Freetown, Port Loko, Tonkolili, Bombali, and Karene, was for those ill-gotten protesters to manifest their untamed brutality intended to overthrow the legitimate government of His Excellency Rt. Brig, Dr. Julius Maada Bio.
“We are deeply saddened and sorry for the loss of the lives of our police officers who were protecting lives and property. To the family, we know you were not prepared for this. While we pray that you take comfort in knowing that they lost their lives innocently and patriotically, we hope you may be comforted by a power greater than us Amen”, he said.
Desmond Pessima added that the pictures of police officers brutally murdered and SLPP structures set ablaze lend the terrorist movement a dimension of horror comparable to terrorist insurrections around the world.
He said the quality and texture of the terrorist attack rhyme with the political thread of the APC as a party of war and conflict triggered by an inordinate power quest.
He continued that from Bombali to Tonkolili, Karene, Port Loko, and Eastern Freetown, (APC strongholds), the APC terrorists disregarded the cherished customs and values of democracy and became a law unto themselves.
As a region, Desmond Pessima continued that they believe that the terrorist attack was not just on Sierra Leone but an attack on all who believe in democracy.
He reiterated that as a region and party, they are eternally committed to the rule of law and will hunt and bring to justice those terrorists who wallow in collective mediocrity that they will make Sierra Leone “ungovernable”.
He also called on all law-abiding and conscientious Sierra Leoneans to go about their business. He assured that the Sierra Leone People’s Party headed by HE Rt Brig Dr. Julius Maada Bio will not tolerate the desperate criminals of APC who are inciting terrorism in Sierra Leone.
