As the Sierra Leone People’s Party sets to convene its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting today the 30th November 2021, the Secretary General of the Party Umaru Napoleon Koroma has admonished all Regional Chairpersons or Leaders to submit valid and updated delegate list before the commencement of the meeting.
The delegate conference will be staged at the Portloko District Hall at 11: AM.
The Secretary General also urged all Diaspora regions/branches to present evidence of payment of subscription as required by article 4 (b) 14, 15 and16 of the party constitution upon arriving at the aforementioned venue of the conference.
As per the rules and regulations guiding the conduct of the 2021 Executive Elections, the Secretariat also pleaded for a full compliance of the gazette rules which was published on the 24th of March 2021.
Clause 312 (3) (page 221) of the gazetted rules states that the elections of National Officers shall be conducted by an independent body appointed and approved by the National Executive Council for such purpose.
Clause 4 (B) (A) (Page 222) also heighted the functions of the independent elections monitoring and oversight committee (IEMOC) as follows: (a) supervising and conducting elections of National Officers of the Party and any other elections referred to by NEC; and (e) in collaboration with the National Secretary General, to publish and circulate the final list of delegates/voters ratified and approved by NEC. Such final list of voters/delegates shall be published and circulated for a period of not less than twenty-one days period to the date fixed for the election.
