SLPP Deputy Chairman Aspirant Alhaji Alpha Mohamed Kallon has divulged bright ideas to make the party more effective. Party insiders have already predicted his landslide victory in the upcoming national delegate election.
In an exclusive interview with A-Z Newspaper Alhaji Alpha Mohamed Kallon said the party needs to graduate from a social club to a full fledge party that matches the standard of ANC in South Africa, PDP in Nigeria and other performing parties on the continent.
He says the strength of his conviction to win the upcoming election for the national position is based on the fact that he has been tested with power, having remarkably served in the northern regional leadership for a considerable period of time when Dr. Abass Bundu as chairman was indisposed between 2013 through 2017.
Alhaji Mohamed Kallon stated that his election is plus for the 2023 inroad making for the SLPP in the northern province as he has the ability to magnetize voters especially the youths and women, by introducing recreation facilities and income generating opportunities.
He said he has cultivated a good rapport with other SLPP northern politicians who have confidence in his leadership credential and track record.
Whilst confident that he will the race because of his national popularity and clout, Alhaji Mohamed Kallon indicated he will not back out of the party if any of his rival contenders wins in worst case scenario.
Without leaving his election victory to chances Alhaji Kallon has disclosed a plan to embark on a countrywide campaign trail so that he can sell his message of hope in winning the hearts and mind of delegates.
For him losing power to the opposition is a nightmare that must be allowed by any means. He believes team play will be the catalyst to retain power and he is keeping his strategy to inject new ideas into party close to his chest.
Alhaji Kallon is a graduate of Fourah Bay College. He taught as a teacher, before leaving for the diaspora and returned home to have since set up his own business that is thriving and created employment opportunities. This track of the man is by all indication evidence that he can be trusted with power.
