SLPP Chairman Calls For Reconciliation In Kailahun

The Sierra People Party (SLPP) District Chairman for Kailahun District, Gbassay Jusu Gbobeh has called for reconciliation and encouraged all those who have left the party to come back. He noted that infighting in politics will not bring any profit.

He disclosed that President Julius Maada Bio has said there is no independent; they should embrace all the independent candidates.

He made the statement over the week end in Woroma, Penguia Chiefdom, Constituency 010, Kailahun district during the District visit on peace reconciliation and teaching on the PR system.

He noted that the two chiefdoms in the Constituency have left behind for so long without development.

He dilated that SLPP is satisfied with performance of Hon. Zainab Kama Brama within the last two years of her election. He said when the time comes to give symbol the Kailahun district executive will sit with the stakeholder with the district to decide on the symbol.

However, the SLPP Kailahun district Chairman opened nomination for intending to contest. 

In his contribution, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. David Panda Noah said should Kailahun district should be united, cohesive and give their best for SLPP. He said President Bio had entrusted the party to stakeholders of the district and he believed that Kailahun district will always kailahun give the best for SLPP. The Internal Affairs spoke about women empowerment, minimum thirty percent and 21 % national budget allocation to education, learning material, school feeding. He told the audience that SLPP lose the election, the developmental strives of the district will be hindered. 

In her statement, SLPP the Hon. Member of Parliament representing Constituency 010, Hon. Zainab Kama Brama  said “Today marks two years since I was elected as Member of Parliament, and as first woman to be elected as an MP in the constituency.

He called on everyone  to fight towards peace and support the agenda of the President. She said “Penguia and Pejeh Bongre Chiefdoms are one”,

The Lawmaker urged the people to stop tribalism, regionalism and sectionalism and they should see themselves as enemies.

Hon. Zainab Kama Brima noted that politics is the number and that everyone has the right to contest but they should do it in the spirit of unity and love one another.

She called on her supporters to be peaceful and embrace one and another.

She expressed confident that she would retain the SLPP symbol and return back to Parliament based on her developmental strives within two years in the district.
