The smooth running of the ongoing voters registration exercise in Bombali District has been largely attributed to the effective sensitization carried out by the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) Chairman for Bombali District, Alhaji Mohammed Saiffa.

Being an opposition stronghold, with the number of supporters of the ruling party growing steadily ahead of the June 24 polls, Mr. Siaffa has won more souls through his massive sensitization drive for people to turn out and be registered to vote.

He visited Chiefdom headquarter towns including Mapaki and Binkolo where he was given a standing ovation. He explains that partaking in the registration is the duty of any Sierra Leonean who has attained age 18 or will be 18 on the day of the elections.

In Makeni which is the biggest city in the northeast, the District Chairman did not only sensitize on the need for registration, but provided water for his party agents posted to take note of what they notice during the registration process. He expanded to villages as well telling people to exercise their franchise as the only democratic method to put a government into power.

At Dr. Vincent Kanu Road, the District Chairman, cajoled Makenitonians to refrain from any form of violence and allow the process to go on smoothly. He said President Bio is providing a level play field for the conduct of credible elections.  “To control here you have to be a strategist with an open door policy”, he told this medium, noting that the victory of President Bio is assured since people have lost confidence in the APC.

In his bid to ensuring peaceful elections in Makeni, Alhaji Mohamed Siaffa hosted a top executive of the APC and a delegation from the North America Region. Highlight of the meeting is how the two main political party’s members should conduct themselves for there to be peaceful elections come 2023.  He recommended to the two parties to maintain the peace and ensure that nothing goes wrong with the elections.
