Members of Parliament of the Sierra Leone People’s Party, Bo district have on  Saturday 4th September 2021 donated the sum of Fifty Million Leones (Le50,000,000) for the party regional office construction project in Bo.

Informing party members about the purpose of the gathering, Alhaji Kanja Sesay said that the party has decided to have its own office in which its construction started years ago, adding that the MPs came over to the party office  in a full view of  supporting the  construction of the party office in Bo.

The Chairman, SLPP Southern Region went on to explain the reason for the new office, noting that the Party has seen the need to have its own regional office that will accommodate more members to host party functions.

Alhaji further mentioned that the Party has constructed other offices in some District Headquarters towns and also has rented offices across the country.

 Chairman Kanja further intimated that the project has started long ago but has not be completed. He said the project was launched in 2015 by His Excellency, President Julius Maada Bio and was graced by many party dignitaries which many of them made pledges for the project.

“The main sources of funding for the project have been through private donations from friends and well wishers,” Kanja Sesay disclosed.

He added that the Bo district MPs are the first group in the region to give their support to the construction project. He called on the party to remain united.

While presenting the Fifty Million Leones (50,000,000) on behalf of her colleagues MPs from Bo district,  Honourable Neneh Lebbie explained how they believed in the Sierra Leone People’s Party, adding that as members of Parliament under the SLPP ticket,  it is their responsibility to give support to the party.

“We have come to see Chairman Alhaji Kanja Sesay in fulfilment of the pledges we made some time ago. No body coarsed us. No body said if we not do not donate towards this project, they will not vote for us again.  We know that we’re party people,” Hon. Neneh Lebbie averred.

She went on to note that they will continue to give their support to SLPP.

Hon. Lebbie thanked Alhaji Kanja Sesay for providing a land for the construction of the regional party office.

SLPP Elders council representative while making a statement, Anthony Jusu made tribute to the late Pa. Ade Wilson saying that he was always at the site monitoring the project day and night.  Mr. Jusu acknowledged the support by the MPs towards the building project.  He prayed that God will provide more for them to be always thinking about the party.

In response to the various speakers, Alhaji Kanja Sesay on behalf of the regional executive thanked the MPs for the donation, saying that Fifty Million Leones is not a small amount and appealed for more support.

Party members present during the donation praised the MPs for supporting the building project and they also thanked Alhaji Kanja Sesay for making sure that the SLPP has a regional office and for always supporting party members.
