The man tipped as leading aspirant in the race for the National Deputy chairmanship position for the Sierra Leone Party (SLPP) Alhaji AM Kallon, has donated the sum of five million Leones ( Le 50000,000), 45inches smart plasma TV, six wall fans, and one set DSTV decoder to the Party office in Port Loko.
Presenting the donation according to the presumed leading aspirant, the donation was as a result of the visit he made the last time in Port Loko town.
He said during his visit he detected a lot of challenges the party office is faced with in terms of lack of necessary amenities.
According to Alhaji AM Kallon, his second visit to the party office was two fold, first was to inform delegates to consider him for the forth-coming National delegates conference. He urged delegates to consider his previous achievement over the years when he exemplarily served as acting regional Chairman North.
He acknowledged that the party has structures and his intention if elected as the next National Deputy chairman for the Sierra Leone people’s party, (SLPP) will be to foster the upholding of the good values which their forefathers left behind since the establishment of the party.
He further stated that the party with its own existing structures across the country will also create a space that will serve as a training centre for both vulnerable youths and women in terms of capacity building.
Alhaji A M Kallon also encouraged the Port Loko party stakeholders to create fund raising activities that will attract everyone, to contribute to the construction of the District party office and create innovative national programs that the party might organize in coming years.
“I want to share with everyone my ideas on how to develop human capital it is very simple I have travelled to several African countries and I was able to understudy how their patties are running and I want to bring in some of those ideas so that our party will be more attractive to Africa and the world at large”, said Alhaji AM Kallon.
In his statement, the Regional Sectary General North Sorie Ibrahim Fofana, thanked the industrious upright politican for what he considered as a timely gesture. He encouraged delegates to be sincere in their action in choosing their next National officer adding that, over the years there have been challenges faced by party offices across the country.
Receiving the donated items, the women’s leader Port Loko District madam Salamatu Dumbuya also thanked the incoming National Deputy chairman for considering the party office in Port Loko and the general membership of the Sierra Leone people’s party (SLPP) in Port Loko District.
She said they will ensure to use the fund and donated items for intended purposes. She assured Alhaji AM Kallon that they will not disappoint him and whatever they decide as a district they will work in unison
