The Sierra Leone Football Association is set to meet with Chairmen and Secretaries ahead of the commencement of Female League in the Country. This competition had witnessed a lull for over four years.
The Letter from the head of competition at SLFA, Sorie Ibrahim Sesay reads that with directives from the General Secretary of the SLFA, Mr. Chris Kamara ,o an emergency meeting is going to be held at the SLFA Kingtom Secretariat on Thursday, 22nd April, 2021.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss modalities for the kick start of the National Women’s Football league and the forthcoming Female Football symposium to be organized by the Football Association.
It could be recalled that FIFA gave its member Association the sum of 500,000 dollars for the development of female football in their respective Countries. For the past four years, there has been no female Football League in the Country. The situation has been a growing concern to many football Authorities who have female clubs. The resumption of female football league is therefore welcome news to young ladies who have taken the game of Football as their career.
