SLFA President Presents Fifa Badges to Ten International Match Officials

The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Mr. Babadi Kamara, has officially presented FIFA badges to ten referees and assistant referees approved to officiate international matches in 2026.

The ceremony took place on Wednesday, 4 February, at the SLFA Headquarters in Kingtom, marking a significant step in the Association’s ongoing efforts to strengthen match officiating and enhance Sierra Leone’s presence on the global football stage.

The presentation followed FIFA’s release of its list of international match officials for 2026, which includes five centre referees and five assistant referees from Sierra Leone. The selected officials comprise six men and four women, highlighting the SLFA’s commitment to gender inclusion and the development of female officiating in the country.

 

Addressing the officials, SLFA President Babadi Kamara congratulated them on their achievement and urged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, fairness, and professionalism. He emphasized that discipline, transparency, and excellence in officiating reflect not only on the individuals but also on Sierra Leone football internationally.

The SLFA commended all officials for their dedication, consistency, and commitment to excellence, wishing them success as they continue to proudly represent Sierra Leone in international football competitions.
