SLFA Media Officer Visits Foday Mubalie Football Academy

Sierra Leone Football Association Media and Marketing Officer Ibrahim Kamara have on the 30th July 2023 paid a courtesy call at the Foday Mubalie Football Academy in Rokupr, Kambia District.

The main aim of the visit is to inspect the facilities available in the Academy and how best the Football Federation can come in to render some assistance both technically and financially.

Ibrahim Kamara head of  Media and Marketing at the Sierra Leone Football Association said with what he saw he is highly impressed with development at the Academy noting that they are gradually getting there as what they are currently doing at the Academy is massive in transforming the Youth who have taken Football and Education as their career.

He affirmed that from the Football Association point of view they are going to give help to the Academy, because with development at the venue shows they are on the right trajectory in developing Football which is good for the Country; reason being most of the players at the Academy in the next two to four years they will break through at the different national football levels.

He further that one thing that came out clearly from the CEO Foday Kamara, the staffs and players is the passion which they have demonstrated in trying to reach their aim adding that development of the Academy is step in the right direction.

After the tour at the field and other areas the head of Media at the SLFA said for a start they need to fixed up the playing surface, because if you want to get the best out of players you need to give a better playing surface like an artificial turf Pitch, hostels where the players will be camped ahead of a matches. He figured out that there is need for an Academy bus that will transport players to play team’s within and out of Academy.

Brima Bangura fondly called Tombo Juice a former player of the National team Leone Stars, play for Mighty Blackpool and also coach the club from his owned side said he is impressed with the development seen so far from the side of the Government and the SLFA in helping to achieve the dreams of the upcoming players.

He noted that what the CEO has done worth celebrating because it is about developing the young players who will be future stars for the National Team’s in the Country.

Unisia Bangura the Admin Manager said as an Academy they feel excited to see the Media Officer from the Sierra Leone Football Association visit; this has impressed them because they have shown that what they are doing now the Football Federation knows about their work in the Academy.

He further that since its establishment there has been huge progress, because they currently have over (60) players cut across from all levesl only that they are in need of help from the Government the Football Federation and other football philanthropist to come to their aid.

Santigie Ibrahim Sorie Turay a Goal Keeper said they as players are happy for the visit from the team in Freetown as players they want help from the authorities in achieving their dreams in playing Football to the highest level.

Foday Mubalie Football Academy is bracing itself up for the Regional Youth Competition that is sets to kick-Off in November 2023.
