The Sierra Leone Football Association Technical Director Department has on 14th August 2023 Kick-Off instructor Course for Local Coaches across the Country and it is held at the Football Secretariat Kingtom, Freetown.
The Technical Director at the Sierra Leone Football Association, Ibrahim Bah said the Course is all about spreading the game out to empower the local instructors across the Country and empowering them with the Modern trends of Football development noting that as a Federation they are looking at capacity building in the Country.
He affirmed that the only instructors the Country has are two John Keister the Leone Stars Coach and Victoria Conteh former coach of the East End Tigers team, noting that there is an urgent need to get the course on the way as 30 instructors are currently going through the course and its cut across the nationwide.
He added that the target now is the provincial area because everything is just centered on Freetown and Freetown is not Sierra Leone; as a Federation they want to make sure Football gets its wider participation and there are coaches everywhere across the Country. He noted that there are appointed Regional Technical Officers who are going to be in charge of conducting those training on a Regional basis and report directly to the Sierra Leone Football Association Technical Directors Office for final supervision.
Ibrahim Bah said there are many more courses the Sierra Leone Football Association is going to roll out, just after Sierra Leone’s last match in Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea Bissau, the Federation will roll out License B, C, and D course to give room to more local coaches in the Country.
Mr. Bah’s department is working tirelessly to see that more capacity-building courses are rolled out Countrywide with this empowerment, there will be more development in Football locally.
